Bubble Milk Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brewed tea (preferably black tea)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup tapioca pearls
  • 2 tablespoons sugar syrup
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Directions for Preparation

  • In order to make sugar syrup, combine 1 part each of granulated sugar and dark brown sugar with 2 parts water. Place this over medium heat and stir till the sugar part dissolves in water. Simmer for a few minutes and keep aside for cooling down.
  • Now, let’s concentrate on making tapioca pearls. For this, boil 3 cups cold water in a saucepan. Add ½ tapioca pearls, cover with a lid and simmer for 30 minutes. Allow tapioca to sit in the cooking water for another 30 minutes and strain. Drizzle ¼ cup sugar syrup over tapioca.
  • Once you are done with the above preparations, you can easily make bubble milk tea. Add all the bubble milk tea ingredients (except tapioca pearls) – brewed tea, milk, sugar syrup and ice cubes in a cocktail shaker or electric blender. Blend mixture until you get a frothy concoction. Place tapioca pearls at the base of your cup. Pour tea concoction into the cup. Decorate with fruit slices and serve immediately.

 

Sweet Milk Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  •  4 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon black tea leaves
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Water (optional)

Directions for Preparation

  • In case you are concerned about the calories in milk, you can take 3 cups milk and 1 cup water for this milk tea recipe. Pour milk (or milk and water solution) in a saucepan and bring it to boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and add black tea leaves. Cover with a lid and allow tea leaves to steep for 4-5 minutes. Strain milk tea in serving cups. Add sugar according to your taste, stir and serve hot.

 

Chinese Milk Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon black tea leaves
  • Cold sweetened condensed milk
  • Sugar or honey (optional)

Directions for Preparation

  • Pour water in a saucepan and place over medium-high heat. As it starts boiling, add tea leaves in a silk bag and dip it in the water. Reduce heat and continue to boil for 25 minutes. For a strong taste, you can boil for a longer period. Pour hot tea in cups. Stir in cold condensed milk and sugar as per your taste. Your Chinese milk tea recipe with condensed milk is ready to serve.

 

As far as milk tea calories are concerned, one small cup serving of regularly made milk tea provides 60 calories. This calorie count may fluctuate depending upon the milk tea ingredients used in the recipe and also the size of the serving cup.
